Vishwaguruji was welcomed to Melbourne at the airport with flowers and devotion.
The official program in Melbourne began with a Shivaratri celebration at the Yoga in Daily Life Ashram in Richmond on Friday 21 February. Vishwaguruji explained the meaning of Shivaratri. After a day of fasting and chanting 'Om Namah Shivaya' mantra, Vishwaguruji oversaw a special puja (sacred ceremony). Everyone present performed abhishek to Lord Shiva by repeating mantras and making offerings of panchamrit, bael leaves, flowers and fruit. The satsang continued into the night. Wishes were whispered into the divine bull diety Nandi’s ear, so that he could pass the messages on to Lord Shiva. It was a most beautiful and auspicious day for all, with the blessings of Vishwaguruji being there.
The Saturday program was a full day of yoga practice and inspiring lectures from Vishwaguruji on: the soul's journey from the very beginning; elaboration on the importance of prana; the eternal resonance affecting us positively and negatively throughout our lives; our teachers from mother to Guru; the Shiva principle; how the elements come together to form life; and the need to take care of our physical body – an inner journey for the soul.
